About

The original Institute (“Institut für gemeinwohl-orientiertes Wirtschaften e.V.”, IGWW) was founded in July 2013 by Michael Jäger (Sociologist, Zurich/Munich) and Dr. Christian Kozina (Centre for Sustainable Social Transformation, University of Graz).

In 2015, the Institute was constituted as an association. This association has been recognized as a non-profit corporation in Munich, Germany (headquarters of the Institute) since 2016, with the overarching goal of serving the common good.

The activities of the Institute are financed through membership fees, research project-related contributions from third parties (e.g. foundations), donations and sponsorship contributions from private and public organizations.

The Institute consists of its members, an advisory board, a chairman of the board, and is jointly led by two University Professors on a voluntary basis.
